Environmental Art/Crafting

Productions Café Heritage is reaching out to Artists from across Northeastern Ontario to be part of the inaugural group in the creation of art the promotes environmental art.

Artists will be encouraged to prepare and submit a brief overview or their proposed “Enviro Art” piece. The top 10 pieces will be selected to compete at the event. Evaluation will be based on meeting the theme, visual appearance, creativity, and appropriate use of craft materials.

Open to Artists from Northeastern Ontario

  • Theme: Winter Wonderland “Bringing Christmas Carols to Life”
  • Art pieces must be supplied by Mother Nature
  • Spaces 10 ft. by 10 ft by 6 ft. high
  • Artist teams from 1-4 will be encouraged

ENVIRO “ART” CHALLENGE

First Annual

Productions Café Heritage is reaching out to Artists from across Northeastern Ontario to be part of the inaugural group in the creation of art the promotes environmental art.

Artists will be encouraged to prepare and submit a brief overview or their proposed “Enviro Art” piece. The top 10 pieces will be selected to compete at the event. Evaluation will be based on meeting the theme, visual appearance, creativity, and appropriate use of craft materials.

THEME

The theme for the 2021 Enviro Art Challenge is “Winter Wonderland.” Winter Wonderland is being designed to bring Christmas Carols to life through the Nativity and Christmas/Santa’s Village.

ART SUPPLIES

Mother Nature will be the supplier of the materials that will be used by the artist(s). With the exception of food colouring/or water paint, all material must be found in our wonderful forests. (snow, spruce bows, twigs, birch bark, pine cones, pebbles, rocks, other)

ART SPACE

The event will be part of Mémoires Whitewater located at the beautiful Whitewater Park, in Azilda Ontario. Each artist will have a 10-foot by 10-foot by 6-foot high space to create their Enviro Art Piece.

ART DISPLAY

Selected artists will be invited to start crafting at 10:00 am and must be completed on or before 3:00 pm. The final products will be on display during the period of December 18 to January 2, 2022.

ART AWARDS

Public Appreciation Award: Guests at the event will cast their ballot for their preferred choice. In addition, Café Heritage Judges (3) will determine their top three choices. Prize money will be as follows:

  • Public Appreciation Award $250
  • Winner: $500
  • 2nd Place: $250
  • 3rd Place: $125

REGISTRATION

Artists are asked to go to www.cafefestivalnoel.ca and complete the registration form.

Registration closes: December 2, 2022
Selection/Notification: December 5, 2022
Judging  : December 17, 2022

PERMISSION

Artists agree to permit Productions Café Heritage to use any or all Enviro Art Works in promoting the event.
